Aluron's offer includes a new proposition - the AS VGB all-glass balustrade, which is an indispensable element of modern residential and commercial construction. It protects users and increases the aesthetic value of the entire project. Moreover, the company's premiere system has the widest range of applications on the market compared to competing products, most of which are used only to secure high opening windows, known as portfenettes or French balconies.

Comprehensive National Technical Assessment

Aluron is the only manufacturer of aluminum systems that has products for every segment of the window and door joinery market in its portfolio. For this reason, he created a solution that allows the creation of balustrades attached to:

  • portfenetr type windows made of aluminum, PVC and wood,
  • wooden and PVC joinery equipped with proprietary aluminum overlays,
  • post-and-beam facades, including the AF 50KW Quantum photovoltaic facade,
  • steel substructures.

Such a wide range of design possibilities of the AS VGB system results directly from Aluron's business philosophy as an aluminum multi-system provider. Moreover, all the above applications and assembly methods have been confirmed by the most extensive National Technical Assessment currently on the market, issued by the Building Research Institute. This document is necessary for the legal introduction of this type of products to the construction market.

System design possibilities

The maximum dimensions of the balustrade are 2600 mm wide and 1300 mm high, making them suitable for installation on both single and double-leaf windows. Their fillings are made of transparent tempered glass with VSG protective foil in thicknesses ranging from 10.8 mm (55.2) to 20.8 mm (1010.2). Moreover, the AS VGB system allows the balustrade to be equipped with active photovoltaic glazing that generates electricity from solar radiation.

Aluron's new solution, depending on the project requirements and investor expectations, can be differentiated in terms of design and assembly method. The following variants of external balustrade are available, equipped with:

  • glazing mounted on vertical edges with/without a mullion,
  • bottom profile,
  • bottom profile and mullion.

The unique aesthetics of the structure are ensured by hidden mounting screws, drainage channels and connectors. The system also includes solutions dedicated to export markets, including the German market, where the overlap between the balustrade filling (glass) and the profile is 18.5 mm.

AS VGB – solution to the delamination problem

An important problem faced by end users of all-glass balustrades is the so-called delamination. This process involves uncontrolled partial disintegration of the glass panes that make up the structure's filling. This translates into a weakening of the protective function of the balustrade and, above all, into a deterioration of its aesthetic values. The reason for this phenomenon is the unfavorable impact of weather conditions, and above all, the penetration of rainwater and high temperatures.

Aluron eliminated this problem 100%. He equipped his balustrade with an extremely aesthetic handrail placed on the upper edge of the glass. The solution is available in two variants: aluminum or stainless steel (INOX). The use of a handrail also increases the comfort of using the balustrade.

Gemini VGB system

A variant of Aluron's new solution is the Gemini VGB system, which is used to create balustrades for overlay structures mounted on wooden joinery. In this sophisticated design, in which the balustrade glass is integrated with the Gemini system window frame, all glass fastening elements are masked by the frame profile. Additionally, the lower and upper edge of the glass, as in the case of AS VGB, are protected by a filigree aluminum or stainless steel profile. The system allows the use of glass with a thickness of 10.76 to 20.76. The VGB all-glass balustrade is compatible with most Gemini overlay systems. Thanks to its well-thought-out design, it can be installed under construction conditions.
