Modern architectural designs around the world incorporate sliding or lift-and-slide doors as a connecting element between interior and exterior. However, due to varying weather conditions, these designs vary depending on the requirements of a given climate.
The AS 86 SLIDE system was created with the international market in mind, particularly in regions with a mild climate. Key factors here include not only thermal insulation properties but also user comfort, ease of production, and the ability to incorporate large glazing areas. The design allows for the creation of sliding or lift-and-slide doors with maximum leaf sizes of up to 2500 mm wide and 2700 mm high. This solution meets the architectural requirements typical of southern Europe, the Mediterranean basin, and subtropical regions.
A response to various energy needs
Based on 2-, 3- and 4-track frames, the AS 86 SLIDE system offers two main frame variants: HI and ECO. Options allow you to select the appropriate level of thermal insulation depending on local energy standards.
The HI variant features two lines of thermal insulation. It uses two thermal breaks, providing rooms with greater protection from the effects of external temperatures. The ECO version, on the other hand, is a more economical option, with a single line of thermal breaks located centrally. This is a good choice for investments where budget and functionality are key.
Freedom of configuration at the design stage
The AS 86 SLIDE system, like other Aluron solutions, is available in a variety of installation configurations. It is available, among others, in a modern pocket door (galandage) version. The "pocket" variant allows the open door leaf to be completely concealed within a specially prepared wall opening, achieving the effect of maximum spaciousness. The pocket door option is available in single- and double-track configurations.
Optionally, the system can be supplemented with side and top lights, an AS M mosquito net, and an AS LD- linear drainage system, which effectively drains rainwater and condensation from the structure.
Simplification of production and assembly processes
The AS 86 SLIDE system simplifies the prefabrication and assembly process to the greatest extent possible, making it an exceptionally attractive solution for companies producing aluminum joinery. Structural elements, both door leaves and door frames, cut at a 90° angle, can be prefabricated using either doweling or screwing methods, ensuring flexibility in adapting to the production technology preferred by a given plant.
The use of a glazing bead significantly simplifies the initial glazing process and any subsequent replacement of glazing units. Their thickness can range from 20 mm to 36 mm. Additionally, the system is equipped with a perimeter acoustic seal that effectively reduces the intrusion of outside noise. This is particularly important in buildings located in high-noise areas, such as recreation centers or near traffic routes. Another significant advantage is the ability to use hardware with a striker integrated into the espagnolette. No additional milling is required, which positively impacts both the appearance of the final product and production efficiency.
The AS 86 SLIDE system perfectly meets the needs of modern construction in temperate climate zones. It combines the ability to create large glazing with design flexibility and ease of installation. The technical solutions implemented translate into tangible benefits both in the design process and in subsequent use.
